Mayor's Celebration

The Mayor Cllr Dr Monica Devendran and Her Consort would like to thank those who attended the Mayor's Celebration Service on Saturday 15th July.

His Majesty's representative Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire Dr Phil Harding released a special commemorative souvenir to mark the special occasion.

There were 165 distinguished Guests - including Members from the House of Lords, Ministers of Religion, the High Sheriff of Wiltshire, the Chairman of Wiltshire Council, representatives from the Royal British Legion, the Royal Air Force, Amesbury Dental Care, the Emergency Services, Amesbury Girls Brigade, Amesbury Hoppa Bus, Amesbury Green Fingers Community Garden, businesses in Amesbury such as – Tandoori Nights, Betty Supermarket and the Murco Fuel Station, the Head Teacher of Christ the King School and residents of Amesbury.

Amesbury Town Councillors – Cllr Crook, Cllr Swindlehurst, Cllr Strange, Cllr Mitchell, Cllr Hedge, Cllr Hagger, Cllr Knight, Past Mayors and Wendy Bown the Town Clerk. Mayors with their consorts from other Wiltshire towns and cities were present at this special occasion.

A special thanks to Father Darren - Vicar of the St Mary and St Melor Parish Church, the Trustees and Catherine - Business Manager of Antrobus House, The George Hotel - Amesbury, Amesbury Town Band, Little House, Cllr Graham Wright - Chairman of Durrington Town Council, Cllr Steve Hedge, Rita Goldthorp and Steve Goldthorp who helped towards a successful event.

The Mayor's chosen charity on this occasion was The Friends of the Church.
