Over the next few months, you will notice some changes taking place in the area of open space next to Evergreen Court and the playing fields as we start transforming the area into a garden. This garden will be open to the whole community and there will be opportunities to get involved coming up!
The garden has been designed by artist Juliet Haysom and will have sculptures that can also be used as seating. Juliet has responded to the landscape around Amesbury and has made use of local materials such as chalk that is being reused from nearby excavation works. The garden will support native wildlife to thrive in Kings Gate with areas of wildflower meadow seeding, chalk scrapes in the ground (good for encouraging a variety of wildlife), native planting and new trees.
The garden will take a little while to settle down once it has been planted up, but we do hope that you will enjoy the space as it transforms into a garden for all!
We will be announcing opportunities to get involved soon, but if you have any questions, please email sophie@ginkgoprojects.co.uk.
