Jubilee Beacon, Thank you.

Amesbury Town Council would like to say a huge thank you to all those who attended the lighting of the Queens Jubilee Beacon on Thursday 2nd June. The support of the Community was lovely to see at Amesbury’s Country Park, on such an auspicious occasion.

A member of the Community said that the lighting of the Bonfire with the sun set, made it look magical, we at Amesbury Town Council would completely agree.

There were Beacons in many forms, from the traditional Beacon to, Bonfires, and buildings with displays, that all lit up the skies across the United Kingdom and the 14 Commonwealth Countries. Amesbury Town Council was honored to be part of such a momentous event. The Mayor of Amesbury and Mr. Luke March, Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire said a few words, followed by a reading of the proclamation. The Beacon was then lit by Mr. Luke March and Mayor Damian Kuczera before the Mayor said a final few words of thanks.

Amesbury Town Council would also like to thank the Armed Forces Veteran Breakfast Club (AFVBC), for providing hot food and drink to all who attended, and for the great work they do, to end isolation.

Thank you to everyone involved.
