Bowman Centre

There are 15 councillors working for the town, supported by a clerk and deputy clerk. The new council office is situated at the Bowman Centre, Amesbury, and is open to the public during normal office hours.

The population of Amesbury is increasing rapidly and we are committed to providing a safe environment with facilities that cater for all residents through an on-going programme of monitoring and maintenance.

2009/10 has seen improvements in Salisbury Street and additional planters throughout the town. We have continued to maintain Amesbury’s open spaces, and most recently have been working on creating a new play area at Harvard Way for both toddlers and older children.

The Town Council will be working to provide additional allotments, improved walks through the parish, further recreational facilities at Archers Gate and more seating.

Links with the Unitary Authority, the Stonehenge Chamber of Trade, English Heritage and councils of neighbouring parishes ensure that Amesbury maintains its position in the wider community.
