Ian Mitchell and his family moved to Amesbury in 1998.  He has served on Amesbury Town Council since 2003. From 2004 to 2007 he chaired the Amesbury Market Town Partnership (AMTP) and presented the Amesbury Community Strategic Plan (ACSP) to the Amesbury Retail Inquiry in 2009. He was a Salisbury District Councillor from 2007 to 2009, supporting the growth of retail in Amesbury.   Ian works in Operational Research, the Science of Better, which provides analysis for decisions supporting business and developing sustainable communities. He is a Fellow of the Operational Research Society.
